Lay Counselling Programme:
Our aim is to offer counselling to young adults to empower them to make sustainable changes while simultaneously enhancing the capacity of the mental health workforce in South Africa through training lay counsellors and supervisors. Our 3 aims:

Our commitment to offering free counseling services for young adults across Southern Africa. We firmly believe that addressing mental health challenges can dismantle the barriers hindering individuals from achieving their full potential, which are often perpetuated by systemic issues such as limited access to health services.

Our dedication to training and supporting individuals aspiring to enter the mental health professions. We strive to equip them with valuable skills and experiences that provide a competitive edge in training programs.

Our focus provision of supervisor experience for newly qualified psychologists. This facet of the program aims to refine and transfer their skills, bolstering confidence in their abilities and expediting their career progression.
School-Based Programme:
Our goal is to provide mental health literacy to schools (children, teachers, and parents) to make mental health care services more accessible. Our 6 main aims:

Deliver psychoeducation programs aimed at assisting schools gain knowledge on recognizing risk factors for specific mental health conditions. The programs will also assist schools gain insight into prevention and early detection of mental health conditions as well as appropriate help-seeking routes.

Address beliefs, stereotypes and or misconceptions relating to mental health conditions that hinder help-seeking within the school and surrounding areas. This will be delivered through workshops, social groups facilitated through schools, and paper based information leaflets that are easily accessible.

Collaboratively work on developing attitudes that help identify the need and promote accessing professional help-seeking. This will be achieved through helping schools foster a school climate that promotes student and staff well-being

Up-skill students and teachers on self-help skills. this will further empower students and staff to take better care of their mental health and deal with psychological, cognitive and neuropsychological problems they might present with.

Deliver lay counselling program in-person within schools to help support teachers and students who need one-on one support for their mental health.

Work collaboratively with community based centers and outreach programs that empower students to understand the value of broader community engagement and social responsibility. These activities will include community wellness, sport activities, participating in community gardening initiatives, and arts and creative expression programs
